Montenegro
Montenegro is described by many as the pearl of the Mediterranean. Situated in the south of the Adriatic sea. Montenegro boasts so much natural beauty including beaches, clear lakes, fast rivers and stunning mountains.
There is plenty to see and do in such a small compact country. Take long morning walks along the beautiful Adriatic coast, have lunch on the banks of Skadar Lake or enjoy an evening hike in the mountains. Montenegro will be a place you will never forget.
You must check out Montenegro’s busiest tourist destination Budva. The Old Town has beautiful Venetian architecture along with cobblestone streets including the 15th century citadel. Budva comes alive in the summer months with modern beaches. Plenty of excellent hotels, villas and apartments. Budva is also a great location for getting about, it’s a short distance from a lot of other attractions. You could swim along the coast as Budva has some of the most popular beaches.
Sveti Stefan is one of the most famous and prestigious places in Montenegro and is only 15 minutes away from Budva. This tiny island used to be a fishing village. It is now a luxury resort designed to meet all your needs.
The island itself is very small and connected to the mainland by a narrow bridge. You could rent an individual room or rent a whole villa with private pools and terraces to drink in the stunning view of the sea and the Montenegrin coast. There is also the hotel Aman Sveti Stefan which offers guests two pools, spa with infinity pool, gym and several restaurants.
A great place to stay with fantastic accommodation for those wanting to soak in the views and relax in style.
Lake Skadar is highly recommended for a spot of lunch and to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Skadar is renowned as one of Europe’s top bird habitats. It is a blissful place with steep mountains, island monasteries, clear waters and floating meadows of water lilies. Lake Skadar is ideal for nature lovers and those wanting some outdoor activities. There are numerous small town and villages along the coast to visit as well. Though access to a car would be handy.
Another great city to visit is Kotor. Over 2000 years old this city is a true fortification masterpiece. Set in the gorgeous Boka Bay area. There is an abundance of history to learn about as well as ancient tales and legends that will take you back in time. Surrounded by dark mountains the city is strikingly beautiful. We strongly recommend you take your camera as the city has so much to admire and offer.
