Marmaris
One of Turkey’s most popular holiday destinations. With plenty on offer for everyone, whether you want to party the night away or spend time with the family and take part in various outdoor activities. There is even plenty of history on offer as well. Marmaris is a place to satisfy all types.
Marmaris is a town situated on the southwest Mediterranean coast of Turkey, in the Mugla Province. Marmaris splits both the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea with a long and narrow peninsula.
Marmaris is home to some wonderful beaches which are a must to visit. The two main beaches are Marmaris Uzunyali Beach (also known as Long Beach) and Marmaris Urban Beach. Both these main beaches are located next to each other. Long Beach stretches 10km until it reaches the town of Icmeler. The promenade which is traffic free overflows with everything you would expect; cafes, restaurants, bars, shops for all the usual holiday items. There are many other great beaches well worth a visit including Incekum Beach, Icmeler Beach and many more.
Shopping is a major activity taken seriously in Marmaris with plenty on offer. The biggest shopping centre is Marmaris Grand Bazaar also known as Carsi Market. This is located in central Marmaris right by the shore.
If you would like a bit of history then head to the old town with its old age charm and cobbled streets. Turn a corner and you will see the turreted walls of Marmaris Castle. Built by the Ionians in 1044 BC. This place has some fantastic history to learn about. The castle also features a museum full of rare well-preserved artefacts.
There is plenty on offer for those seeking night-time revelry including live music, laser shows, various parties as well as famous DJ’s performing. Most of the action is centred on Marmaris Bar Street, it is here you will find Club Areena, Rock Bar Marmaris, Crazy Daisy Bar and Nightclub plus many more. Every music taste is catered for.
