India: The Golden Triangle 3

  • India
  • New Delhi
  • Agra
  • Jaipur
  • Delhi

This is the final instalment of The Golden Triangle trip where we will explore the city of Jaipur. The capital of Rajasthan and also known as the Pink City.

It takes around 5 hours to get from Agra to Jaipur by train. Alternatively if you went from Delhi to Jaipur by train, it would again take around a similar time; around 4-5 hours. It all depends on how you plan your trip. You can also travel by bus or car, although most people prefer to travel by train.

The most significant place to visit in Jaipur must be Hawa Mahal. This is a massive building in the heart of the city. The palace was built with many small windows allowing the women of the royal family to have a glimpse of the festive celebrations without being seen by the observers outside. The numerous small windows also allow a lot of cool breeze to blow through the palace offering a place of refuge against the heat. It is a beautiful building which is well worth a look.

An absolute must to do in Jaipur and especially in a country like India is to check out the amazing wildlife on offer. You can visit the safari park at the Jhalana Leopard Conservation reserve. Situated right in the heart of Jaipur it takes up an area of over 20 square kilometres. A great place to spot the elusive leopard. There is a good chance you will catch sight of one within 5 minutes of entering the reserve. You will be able to take an open-air ride and spot other animals like Blue Bulls, Spotted Deer, Hanuman Langur, Rhesus Macaque and many more.

Sisodia Rani Garden and Place is a popular place to visit so people can enjoy the stunning beauty of the picturesque garden and the architectural craft displayed on the palace walls. Situated about 6 kilometres outside of Jaipur city. This is definitely a great place to visit to enjoy the outdoors and take some photos.

That brings me to the end of The Golden Triangle trip. It has so much to offer in terms of the amazing buildings and history as well was the amazing beauty to be found in the gardens. India is a truly magical place to visit.
